i get an error after doing everything according to your suggestions.

bash: /usr/local/bin/maya: /bin/csh: bad interpreter: No such file or directory

launching from “Applications” gives error too
Failed to execute child process /usr/autodesk/maya/bin/maya” (No such file or directory)

but file exists !

Estrange … I suggest that ask in the origin of this info .. in the Ubuntu Forums… In my case works well…

getting error:

my maya2008 works but i cannot save or open maya file. when double clicking on the .mb file it says it doesn’t exist. and even i cannot write any script in script as if it is locked.

help me to short out this problem. i am running it under ubuntu 8.04 hardy

i’ve successfully installed maya 2008 on ubuntu studio 8.10 All seems well. I can render scenes using Maya and Maya fur however when i try to render using Mental Ray I get the following errors:

I’ve also installed Shave and a Haircut but dont know how to crack it in linux. Any ideas ppl?
